This Gay Bobsledder Is NOT Here for Femmephobic Memes Using His Image

"Don’t use my image for your internalised homophobia," Australian bobsledder Simon Dunn tweeted.

The LGBTQ+ community is very diverse and filled with people who identify in all different sorts of valid ways, but because heteronormativity is still a thing, and because masculinity is so prized for some reason, there's still a stigma about gay men being too femme. And this ugly AF meme is a perfect example of the fact that femmephobia is still something that plagues the world:

Like a lot of other awful things, the meme started making its rounds on the internet and even caught the attention of gay, Australian bobsledder Simon Dunn, one of the men featured in the meme itself. Fortunately, he was having absolutely none of it, and rightfully called it TF out.

"Don’t use my image for your internalised homophobia," Simon said in a tweet about the meme. "Don’t make assumptions on the kind of gay man I am or the kind of gay men I associate myself with I’ll always support those those who are true to themselves and be who they truly are. I will always be your biggest advocate!"

It's nice to see Simon stand up for those being mocked in the meme that was using his image. Let's take a note from his book and call out femmephobia whenever we see it happening!
