Basketball phenom Brittney Griner has revealed in court documents that she sought an annulment of her 28-day marriage to Glory Johnson after discovering that Johnson had been texting a "former beau" while they were engaged, according to People. Additionally, the filing states that Griner "just recently learned that (Johnson) was not completely faithful during their courtship leading up to the engagement. (Johnson) intentionally concealed her sexual relations with a man to whom she was simultaneously in a relationship from 2013 to July 2014."
Their relationship has been rocked by drama for some time now.
They were both arrested on April 22nd for assault and disorderly conduct. Griner also alleged that their marriage and decision to get pregnant were influenced by threats made against her by Johnson, though the nature of those threats remains unknown. Their annulment announcement was made a day after their pregnancy announcement, which has left fans flummoxed until now.
Griner has returned to the stadium after a seven game suspension for the April 22nd incident, and fans recently voted for her to be a starter in the WNBA All-Star game. Johnson (who was also suspended) is taking a hiatus during her pregnancy. She is expecting twins.
