Her Wife May Be Pregnant, But Brittney Griner Wants an Annulment

One day after WNBA star Glory Johnson announced her pregnancy on Instagram, her wife and fellow basketball star says their marriage was a fraud.

The soap opera of WNBA couple Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson took another dramatic turn on Friday: Griner filed for annulment one day after Johnson posted glowing photos of the couple celebrating her new pregnancy.

Griner and Johnson have been married only 28 days, and were both arrested for assault and domestic violence — when they got into a vicious fight with each other — at the start of their marriage, on May 8 (the WNBA suspended both players a week later for seven games each; Griner plays for the Phoenix Mercury and Johnson for the Tulsa Shock).

In her annulment filing, Griner claimed the marriage is “void based on fraud and duress... [Griner] was pressured into marriage under duress by [Johnson’s] threatening statement... [Johnson] made fraudulent statements to [Griner] and [Griner] did not discover said statements made were fraudulent until after the parties were married.”

Johnson announced her forthcoming child via two photos on Instagram; one included Griner lovingly touching her stomach. In the annulment, Griner says she has no biological connection with the child, according to BuzzFeed.
