On the 15th of October, GLAAD hosts #SpiritDay every year to take a "stand against bullying and to show their support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth." Spirit day started back in 2010 with the help of Brittany McMillan, a high school student, who wrote a Tumblr post about wanting to start a day to show support to kids who were bulled because they were LGBT.
