Rachel Maddow got into a debate with GOP strategist Alex Castellanos on Meet the Press about whether or not women actually make 77 cents on the dollar compared to their male counter parts.
Host David Gregory asked Maddow and Castellanos how GOP candidate Mitt Romney could appeal to female voters, calling them “the real deciders of the race.”
Maddow stated that women make less money than men, noting “Right now women are making 77 cents on every dollar that men are making.”
She was interrupted by Castellanos saying that “there are lots of reasons for that.”
Maddow attempted to debate the issue with Castellanos, but Castellanos just kept interrupting her. Finally, once Maddow outlined her argument, Castellanos said, “I love how passionate you are. I wish you were as right about what you’re saying as you are passionate about it. I really do.”
