Plot twist: everyone's a real estate agent!

@politebotanist

It's been 12 years since The Real L Word wrapped up its third and final season. Some things have proven timeless — Taylor Swift, The Hunger Games, KPop — but in many ways the world looks very different than it did in 2012.

The good news is, it is a whole lot gayer than it seemed to be a little over a decade ago. And yet, even with all the progress that's been made, there hasn't been a reality TV series before or since that focuses on the lives of real queer women in the way that The Real L Word did. Naturally, we wonder where these folks went after the credits rolled for the last time.

Here's what the main cast has been up to in the years since the show ended.

Whitney Mixter

The Real L Word's real life Shane seems has hit a real stride since wrapping the show. While Mixter was notorious for being a hit with the ladies, she did end up settling down, marrying The Real L Word costar Sada (formerly Sara) Bettencourt on the show's series finale in 2012. Following an appearance on Vh1's Couple's Therapy in 2014 to try and deal with their relationship issues, the pair moved to the Bay Area for a time to take care of Bettencourt's mother, during which time Mixter tried her hand at real estate. After Bettencourt's mother's passing, they relocated back to L.A. and eventually separated in 2016, and have since divorced.

After returning to Los Angeles, Mixter has continued work in television and film, real estate, and as an LGBTQ+ party promoter. At age 37, Mixter decided to have a child, Mecca Silas Moon Mixter, whom she carried and gave birth to in October 2020. Mixter is active on social media, and very open about her journey as a queer single mother.

Sada Simone

Sada Simone (Sara Bettencourt) is a hairstylist and makeup artist at HAIRBAE Beauty Bar in Valley Village, California. She's now in a relationship with musician Troy Spino. They have two children together.

Rose Garcia

Rose Garcia is still "living The Real L Word life every day," as a "crowd motivator" and real estate agent in Los Angeles. She can be seen at well-to-do lesbian events around Los Angeles with her girlfriend, Sofia. In December 2022, Garcia was diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer, and is now cancer free!

Jill Sloane Goldstein & Nikki Weiss-Goldstein

After spending much of the first season planning their wedding, Jill Sloane Goldstein and Nikki Weiss (now Weiss-Goldstein) tied the knot in 2010 at an intimate Jewish ceremony in Malibu. Goldstein has continued to write for film and television, doing treatments for commercials, award shows, and music videos.

Weiss fought and won a battle with breast cancer in 2013, and is now a breast cancer awareness activist. She runs a successful business, Nikki Weiss & Co, managing film and commercial directors — though she boasts that her two best productions are her and Goldtein's sons, Grey and Adler.

Mikey Koffman

Mikey Koffman, best known on the show for being the promoter for LA Fashion Week, was also apparently an EMT. She's now putting her wide array of skills to use as CEO of Endless Road Entertainment, a company that is "leading the way in Creative Event and Video Production and Event Medical Services." Koffman and her partner, Dr. Stephanie Koffman, have been married since September 2022.

Tracy Ryerson & Stamie Karakasidis

Former model Tracy Ryerson and stand-up comic Stamie Karakasidis began dating in the show's first season, and are still in LA and still together! Ryerson continued working in TV, and is currently the Head of Scripted TV & Film at Archewell Studios. Karakasidis is a real estate agent, and the founder of MEWD, a company that makes vitamins for teens. Ryerson and Karakadis have worked on multiple projects together, most notably their podcast The Stamie & Tracy Showand their son Milo, who was born in 2018.

Kacy Boccumini

Kacy Boccumini has lived a whole lifetime since filming wrapped on The Real L Word. Boccumini was diagnosed with MS in 2013. He and his partner during The Real L Word, Cori McGinn, broke up in 2017. And in 2021, Boccumini came out as a trans man. Now, Boccumini does work as a writer and director, offers professional tarot readings, and hosts The Stories We Tell, a podcast about movies and script analysis.

Cori McGinn

Cori McGinn has stayed relatively out of the public eye since the end of the show, but does still share occasionally on social media. She has Instagram accounts for her knitting projects and adorable dog Maizy. In 2023, McGinn shared on Instagram that she was celebrating 5 years of sobriety!

Romi Imbelli-Haven

At the end of the series, Romi Imbelli-Haven (then Klinger) married her then boyfriend, Dusty, but the couple separated and divorced in 2013. She then started dating a chef Charles Imbelli, with whom she had a daughter, Frankie, and moved to Texas, though she and Charles also separated and divorced as well. In 2024, Imbelli-Haven married Angelina Jolie's brother and her close friend of over two decades, James Haven. The two broke up the next day, but announced yesterday that they are together again. Imbelli-Haven now works as an "identity and nutrition coach", make-up artist, and co-hosts the podcast The Eff It Madres.

Francine Beppu

Francine Beppu moved back home to Hawai'i in 2015. She now lives in Honolulu and works as the Head of Network and Strategy for NMG Solutions. She's also served on the Board of Directors for the Hawai'i LGBT Legacy Foundation since 2017!

Sajdah Golde

Political organizer Sajdah "Saj" Golde founded the Black LGBTQ+ magazine BlackOUT in 2013, though the project was short lived. In 2016, Golde went back to school, and graduated with a Masters of Law in Taxation from Loyola University. She is now the founder and CEO of the tax law firm Goldemind, Inc.

Claire Campbell Moseley

Claire Campbell Moseley failed to rekindle things with ex-girlfriend Francine Beppu on The Real L Word, but things have been looking up since then. Moseley has started her own business, O'Harrows Clothiers, which designs and sells custom pocket squares. In 2017, she was named one of Elle Magazine's hottest singles. She still lives in L.A., but loves to travel, and can be found sharing her journeys on social media.

Lauren Bedford Russell

Then CEO of Lyon Jewelry Lauren Bedford Russell is now an ocean conservation activist. She's an ambassador for Sea Legacy, a nonprofit that "illuminates ocean stories that activate people into action for a better world." Her social media use is infrequent, mostly the occasional whale or shark.

Somer Bingham

Musician Somer Bingham is now multihyphenate producer-songwriter-musician Somer Bingham. She's released music as a part of the bands MNR PLSR, Clinical Trials, and under her solo moniker Somer. Her latest project, killbunny, released a six song EP in October 2023. She and her wife Donna Rizham, had a daughter together via sperm donor in 2014. While many have written about the complexities of queer motherhood, Bingham's essay about how to remain punk after becoming a mom is an especially poignant and unique piece.

Amanda Leigh Dunn

In 2013, Amanada Leigh Dunn and America's Next Top Model contestant Kim Stolz cofounded the lesbian bar The Dalloway, which unfortunately closed just 11 months after opening. She's now the Head of Design and Development for the avant-garde real estate development firm House of Rolison. She's engaged to Taylor Hahn, House of Rolison's Managing Partner.

Kiyomi McCloskey

One of the cast members from The Real L Word's third season which split its time between L.A. and New York, Kiyomi McCloskey is still killing it in NYC. After the loss and addition of multiple different members, McCloskey's band Hunter Valentine released their last EP in 2016. She married her longtime girlfriend, model Meghan Garland, in 2019, but two split in 2022. Currently, McCloskey works in real estate, and she and her partner Kayko Tamaki welcomed a baby together in 2023.

Kelsey Grace Chavarria

After The Real L Word wrapped, Kelsey Grace Chavarria dipped her toes into the world of fashion, opening an online curated vintage boutique, Vintage by Kelsey, in 2013. Now, she's a manager at Prometheus Entertainment, and a making a name for herself as a filmmaker. Her directorial debut, "What's Uptick", won the Audience Choice Award at the Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival. Chavarria is currently working on her first feature film with her fiancee, Lauren Atchinson.
