"It’s never too late to be your true self."

Día de los Muertos, the holiday where Mexican and Latin American communities honor their deceased loved ones, is coming up and Doritos has released a new ad celebrating LGBTQ+ pride.

On the Day of the Dead, families create ofrendas, an altar to remember their late loved ones that create a bridge between the afterlife and the living world so that the family can be reunited once again.

In Doritos Mexico's new Spanish commercial, a family goes to visit their Uncle Alberto. All of a sudden, his spirit appears alongside one of a mystery man.

"Who is he," Alberto's family asks.

“He’s Mario, my partner,” Alberto shares, with a loving look to his love.

The younger members of his family at first share shocked glances, then Alberto's elderly sister jumps in.

“What a miracle!" she says. "I thought he would be alone forever.”

Alberto and Mario share a loving embrace, and I'm not crying, you are.

"It’s never too late to be your true self," the commercial concludes, alongside the hashtag “#PrideAllYear.” The ad is going viral on Twitter and TikTok.
