Demi Lovato is lending her voice in support of LGBTQ+ youth.

The queer pop star recorded a message for "Pride Everywhere," a new campaign from the Trevor Project that gives hope to queer young people in a time of social isolation.

The partnership comes in the heels of the release of "I'm Ready," a track in which she and Sam Smith bring queer representation to the Olympics.

As many Pride celebrations have been canceled or postponed due to the health crisis, and many have been cut off from resources and safe spaces, Pride Everywhere is "reminding LGBTQ young people that no matter how challenging things may seem, this much is true: Pride isn’t going anywhere, because Pride is everywhere," according to a release from Trevor.

This message was echoed by Lovato as she listed everything that can be seen in a Pride parade that also exists independently of the physical celebration.

"You see people from all walks of life, owning their power unapologetically and using it for those who need it," Lovato said. "You see resilience in a thousand forms. The strength to stand up despite so many reasons to sit down. You see imagination at every turn. A brilliance shared by creative minds, writing stories, solving problems, and painting pictures that will become our history.

"You see the unrivaled diversity of our people, our ideas, and the ways we're building our future. You see the energy that guides us, that drives us, that promises we're part of something big and growing."

Pride Everywhere

"Pride isn’t just about parades, it’s about celebrating what makes our LGBTQ+ community thrive," said Amit Paley, CEO and executive director of the Trevor Project. "It’s about finding our strength even in times of challenge, sharing our joy even in moments of pain, and creating space to express and celebrate who we are."

"That’s been true since the first Pride march 50 years ago, and it’s just as true this season," Paley added. "People around the world are staying at home, but we at The Trevor Project believe that no matter where you are, you can still find Pride."

In this spirit, Trevor is encouraging LGBTQ+ young people to visit TheTrevorProject.org/PrideEverywhere and join the campaign. Want to participate? Post an image with the hashtag #PrideEverywhere to show the world how you see Pride!
