Yes, you heard right. The Babadook is now a queer icon.
You might be wondering "Wtf?" or "How did this even happen?" or "What is wrong with those damned Millenials?" I've got quite the story for you. Let's go back...back to the beginning...
It all began on Tumblr when someone claimed that the 2014 film The Babadook was listed in the LGBT section of Netflix. Tumblr users defended the genre choice, "Whenever someones says the Babdook isn't openly gay it's like?? Did you even watch the movie?" Another user added "It's canon basically. I mean he created a pop-up book of himself for the drama of it all???" Another replied "The B in LGBT stands for Babadook. Everyone knows this."
