Somehow, Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert managed to get herself reelected despite being incompetent and getting caught groping a man while watching a Beetlejuice play. Now she’s back on Capitol Hill talking about her belief in underwater aliens, and the internet is having a field day with the admission.
During a hearing for a subcommittee of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, Boebert questioned a group of experts who believe the Pentagon is hiding information from the public about UFOs, or UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) as they’re now called, and it went of the rails quickly, the New York Post reports.
In a clip currently going viral on X (formerly Twitter), the Colorado congresswoman asks the UAP experts about the existence of secret underwater alien bases. “Are there any accounts of UAPs emerging from or submerging into our waters which could indicate a base or presence between the ocean’s surface?” Boebert asked. One of the experts, journalist Michael Shellenberger, said he hadn’t heard about it. It’s good to know she’s focused on the important stuff.
While it’s not included in the clip making the rounds on social media, earlier in the hearing, she also asked about whether or not the government is busy making human-alien hybrids. So apparently, she not only believes that aliens have colonized the ocean floor but also said that there are rumors about “a secretive project within the Department of Defense involving the manipulation of human genetics with what is described as non-human material potentially for the enhancement of human capabilities.” None of the experts had heard this rumor either. If alien experts think your theories are outlandish it might be time to, I don’t know, retire.
After getting caught giving a helping hand to her male companion in public, having your old mugshot go viral, and getting so drunk at a work event that Donald Trump wanted nothing to do with you, you’d think Boebert would have run out of ways to embarrass herself, but we guess not.
Keep scrolling to see the internet joining together to roast Boebert for her hilarious belief in aliens!
