The Mistress of the Dark has encouraged us all to Make America Goth Again with a bold statement against the impending oligarchy taking over the U.S. government — while mocking Elon Musk in the process.
Over the weekend, Cassandra Peterson, more commonly known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, donated her Tesla to NPR, following a previous video where she said she hopes we “enjoy the new paint job” on it as much as she does. The paint job in question said “Elon Sux,” with the “X” modeled after the platform formally known as Twitter's logo.
She also captioned that video with a response to the email Musk sent to federal workers demanding they share five things they’d accomplished over the past week. Elvira’s five things include "waking up, brushing her teeth, signing autographs, your mom," and getting a new paint job for her Tesla.
But Peterson wasn't done.
In a second video, which has now gone viral, Peterson revealed that she was donating her newly painted car to NPR. With ACDC’s “Highway to Hell” playing in the background and wearing a "Make America Goth Again" hat, Peterson waved a chainsaw around — mocking Musk’s eccentric behavior on stage at CPAC — and smiled as she waved the car away.
She also gave it the finger at the end.
The current administration's tactic is to rapid-fire demoralizing and terrifying policies aimed at the LGBTQ+ and marginalized communities, but that hasn't stopped folks from speaking out and pushing back, Peterson among them. Not only do these videos give fans a thrill, but they also serve as encouragement to keep up the fight.
