The late night host took it upon himself to launch what he dubbed "The 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games."

Since the end of The Colbert Report, many have missed host Stephen Colbert's signature over-the-top, flashy pranks and stunts. But now, thanks to an opportunity presented to him in the form of the Republican National Convention, Colbert's antics are back in full force.

Last night the Late Show host was filming a segment on the floor for his show, which the Convention had previously given him permission to do. What they may not have suspected -- though they probably should have -- was that Colbert was going to film the segment while in full Cesar Flickerman cosplay:

Flickerman is, of course, the infamous commentator from The Hunger Games, who in the books and movies is made to be a symbol for everything that is wrong with the dystopian society.

It seems that the cosplay was not enough for Colbert, who managed to find his way onto the RNC stage, and in front of the microphone.

He told those on the floor that Donald Trump "has formed an alliance with Indiana Governor Mike Pence," before pretending to black out at the mention of that fact. He then went on to officially ring in the RNC in his own way:

"It is my honor to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games!"

Though the best part of his impromptu "speech" had to be when he was quickly escorted off the stage by security and added, loudly enough for the microphone to catch, "Look, I know I'm not supposed to be up here, but let's be honest, neither is Donald Trump."

Oh, Stephen. What will you do next?
