4 Weird Things Trump-Supporter Aaron Carter Told GQ
'90s kids, prepare to have your childhood dreams crushed. Despite backlash about his recent tweet, Aaron Carter, the blond, once-dreamy apple of our eyes and singer behind illustrious hits like "I Want Candy" and "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)," is still a proud supporter of one of the most contentious (and boisterous) presidential candidates in American history, Donald Trump.
There's a catch though.
In a recent Q&A with GQ's Lauren Larson, the singer defended himself, saying he doesn't agree with all of Trump's political stances, including those on same-sex marriage and immigration. Even though it's good to hear Aaron Carter somewhat supports the LGBT community, it's still disheartening to learn why he thinks Trump is a "leader."
Here are some of Aaron's most (ahem) interesting quotes from his interview with the popular men's interest publication ...
"No. This is the first time I’ve ever really engaged in politics." —When asked about whether or not he has ever voted before.
Aaron, you are 28 years old. You've been eligible to vote for 10 years, and you've never voted before??
"I support Donald Trump. I don’t support every little thing. Trump goes his own way. He’s a leader, not a follower, and he’s proven that by humbling the other campaigns." —When asked if knew his tweet about the GOP candidate would get attention.
The words "Trump" and "humbling" should never ever go together in the same thought.
"If Trump can’t change some of his ways of thinking, then I’m just going to sit this one out." —When asked whether Trump's policies he agrees with outweigh those he disagrees with.
Casually giving up your right to vote during this election? Ok. Cool. It's not like there are other, more qualified candidates to vote for, right?
"I take everything personally, but that’s because I’m so personable." — When asked if he takes hate and death threats on the Internet personal.
Who even describes themselves as personable?
