Trump's Win Sucks, But These Tweets Will Give You Some Hope

Trump may be our next president, but that doesn't mean we have to like it.

Election Day was a rough day. There's no way around it. A Donald Trump presidency is in our midst, officially, and millions of Americans are left worrying about our nation's future.

Oh, and no, this is not a joke. Trump won with a neck-and-neck electoral win, claiming victorious after major news networks called the election after midnight. Throughout the night, feelings turned sour towards the election results. But many voices stuck in there, giving us hope for the future. Here's ten of our favorite tweets:

1.)  Tom Brokaw's Kind Words On Millennials

Millennials see a lot of hate from the media. But Tom Brokaw had some incredibly kind words to share at the start of NBC's election coverage. Just another reason why we love Brokaw and everything he's done for the American people.

2.) Rihanna's Clinton T-Shirt That Gives Us Hope

When Rihanna was snapped with a Clinton shirt on, she proceeded to wear it on Election Day. Swoon.

3.) A Literal Mariachi Band Started Playing in Front of Trump Tower

Not kidding. It's the little things sometimes in an election like this.

4.) That Trump Cake Gave Us All a Laugh

Seriously, that cake looks creepy. It was wheeled in to celebrate Election Night, but the cake looks so lifeless and dull. You know, just like our brand new commander-in-chief.

5.) And We Can Still Poke Fun at His Supporters

Like Joe Walsh, who vehemently complained about Clinton introducing "63 genders" into the United States. Not that we would necessarily mind that, of course.

6.) Many Trump Voters Still Aren't Politically Active

It's true, Trump won the election. But many of his supporters were unregistered to vote, largely because they did not understand how the election process worked. Although some may be bolstered, many may prove complacent with the win. And, therefore, choose to remove themselves from politics altogether.

7.) Clinton's Sweet Send-Off Tweet

The Clinton campaign worked hard, and it's nice to see the early send-off from the Democratic nominee. Even if Clinton wasn't elected, it's just another sign why she could have been such a great choice: at every turn, she's a professional.

8.) Just the Fact We Made It This Far is Huge

We nominated our first female presidential candidate. That is amazing. Even if she didn't win, we came so very close. Just that fact alone speaks volumes about where our country is, and where it's headed.

9.) Things May Change, But A Lot Will Stay the Same Tomorrow

Even the most ambitious president can't fight back against a progressive momentum. When we wake up tomorrow, the world won't be all that different. Not yet. Let's keep it that way before things change for the worse.

10.) The Good People Are Still Here

Brian Beutler tweeted last night about two a response during a Clinton campaign rally. When Clinton mourned the angry tone that the election took on, a crowd member replied "Not your fault!" Even if Trump is now our president, we still have good people watching out for us.
