Tim Kaine and Mike Pence went head-to-head for the first time as vice presidential candidates.
The vice presidential debate of the 2016 election cycle is over, and the candidates brought up some important issues. The key focus was, quite obviously, the (sometimes heated) interactions between Hillary Clinton's Democratic nominee Tim Kaine and Donald Trump's Republican nominee (and noted anti-LGBT legislator) Mike Pence.
Just like last month's first presidential debate, the battle between the VPs pretty much dominated every conversation on social media, especially on Twitter. People on all sides of the political spectrum reacted to the Kaine-Pence bicker fest. It's tough to say who won (many give that title to Pence), but it's evident that many topics still need to be discussed — and debated — before Election Day.
Here are some of the hilarious (and thought-provoking) hot takes Twitter users had about the #VPDebate:

“"Why don't you trust women?" -a gentle but passionate Tim Kaine's finest moment and quote of the night. #VPDebate”— Uzo Aduba (@Uzo Aduba) 1475634769
“#Kaine just laid it down biotch”— Josh Gad (@Josh Gad) 1475631519
“Implicit bias is real. It hurts Americans. Anyone who'd outright deny its existence is unfit for the White House. #VPDebate”— Hillary Clinton (@Hillary Clinton) 1475631329
“anyway mike pence is an actual monster who believes gay people should be converted and women shouldnt be able to make their own decisions so”— Matt Bellassai (@Matt Bellassai) 1475635224
“Mike Pence seems like the kind of guy who fake sneezes in a public school so someone can say "God bless you" and work in a prayer”— Mara Wilson (@Mara Wilson) 1475640146
“So the GOP/Repulicans are attacking Tim Kaine for attacking and interrupting. Clearly they missed Trump at last week's debate. #VPDebate”— Pandora Boxx (@Pandora Boxx) 1475637976
“Pence said a society is judged by how it treats its most vulnerable. This is how he treats LGBTQ people. #VPDebate https://t.co/y1L06bK7pI”— Raymond Braun (@Raymond Braun) 1475634872
“I'm gonna try to live tweet the VP debate but right now they look like two NCAA coaches. So I don't know what the fuck going on!”— Leslie Jones 🦋 (@Leslie Jones 🦋) 1475628836
