PRIDE NEWSLETTER - 3/21/25

Hi Fam 🌈

Kelly Marie Tran has quickly become one of our favorite out and proud stars. While the anticipation is high for The Wedding Banquet, which shows off her comedy chops, she has a new movie out now that shows her darker side. PRIDE sat down with Tran to chat about Control Freak and how this new horror film comes from a personal place — plus how she makes it queer.

But that’s not all! We also caught up with the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race in Las Vegas to get all the tea on their feuds — and even started some new ones. PRIDE also came down with March Madness fever, gushing over the out coaches seeking glory this time, and got a primer for understanding the tournament for those of us who are less, ahem, athletically inclined. No FOMO here, baby.

Finally, we celebrated the 15th anniversary of The Runaways (feel old yet?!) with a look back at the movie’s premiere and basked in sapphic love with a couple of new couple alerts.

What a week!

Cheers!

Misericordia; The Residence; Lil Nas X

Janus Films; Netflix; Lil Nas X/YouTube

Here’s what we’re watching, listening, and vibing to this weekend!

🎥 Film: Misericordia

Stranger by the Lake director Alain Guiraudie trades cruising in the beachside woods for exploring dangerous desires in a small town in rural France with his latest, Misericordia. In theaters now.

📺 Stream & Chill: The Residence

Will Shonda Rimes ever let us breathe? No, because we're too busy cackling over her new comedy The Residence. Uzo Aduba stars as FBI special agent Edwin Park called in to investigate a murder at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Streaming now on Netflix.

🎧 In Our Ears: 'Lean On My Body' by Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X is keeping us fed! His latest banger, ‘Lean On My Body’ is a vibe, but we expect nothing less from this hitmaker.
