Mariah Carey’s denies she’s pregnant with her new husband
Nick Cannon’s baby, but that didn't stop self-confessed gal who likes a stiff one every now and then,
Ellen Degeneres, from administering the booze pregnancy test on Carey on her talk show Wednesday.
Degeneres asked Carey, who performed at the American Music Awards Sunday, if the pregnancy rumors were true. Carey, 38, denied she’s got a baby on the way but Degeneres, dissatisfied with the answer opted to tempt Carey to spill about a baby by offering bubbly as a barometer.
“Let’s just toast with some champagne,” Degeneres teased. But Carey declined saying “It’s just fattening.”
When Degeneres whipped out champagne and flutes and continued to goad Carey, the pop-diva said “This is peer pressure.”
Carey caved and pretended to sip the bubbly, prompting a humorously smug Degeneres to exclaim “You’re pregnant.”
But Carey, a frequent guest on Degeneres’ show insisted she’s not pregnant and that she’ll let Degeneres know when they are going to have a family.
And Carey’s excuse for refusing to sip suds with Degeneres was “It’s too early for me,” she said. “I only drink after 3 p.m.”
