Clay Aiken Won't Play Nice with Kathy Griffin

Despite attempts to make nice with the man she dubbed the ‘Gayken’ years ago, Kathy Griffin gets no love from Clay Aiken. The acerbic witted Griffin said she tried to make good with Aiken backstage at Rosie O’Donnell’s Rosie Live variety show last week but Aiken wouldn't make peace.

Despite attempts to make nice with the man she dubbed the ‘Gayken’ years ago, Kathy Griffin gets no love from Clay Aiken.

The acerbic witted Griffin said she tried to make good with Aiken backstage at Rosie O’Donnell’s Rosie Live variety show last week, E! Online's Marc Malkin reported.

“I held up one of those ghetto blasters playing one of Clay's songs, and I begged him to take me back and he said no," Griffin said at Wednesday’s Grammy nomination concert in downtown L.A. "And then I walked out of the room and Gloria Estefan said to me, 'I told ya -- you shouldn't have gone in there alone.' "

After years of skewering Aiken’s closeted status in her stand-up act, years before the American Idol Alumna officially came out on the cover of People earlier this year, Griffin said she expected some sort of acknowledgement or thank you for her part in helping him with the coming out process.

"There were no words of thanks or even really any words at all, for that matter," Griffin said. "I would have to say he was not very nice."
