Burger King Makes Out With Ronald McDonald in Pride-Themed Ad
We're loving it!
We honestly never thought we'd see Burger King and Ronald McDonald settle their rivalry, let alone kiss, but hey, 2020 is full of surprises.
All the way over in Finland, Burger King is celebrating Helsinki Pride with an ad campaign of their royal mascot and Ronald McDonald kissing. "Love Conquers All," the ads read. The images have been spotted at bus stops around the city.
"Burger King has always stood for equality, love and everyone’s right to be just the way they are," said Burger King Finland’s brand manager Kaisa Kasila, reports The Advocate. "The only instance where it might not seem [Burger King stood for love], is when we’re bantering with our competitor. But we want to be clear — it all stems from the respect we have for them. And we know McDonald’s stands for the values we stand for, too."
It's unclear if McDonald's is aware of the ad campaign, let alone endorses it, but either way, we're certainly loving it.
"We thought, what a better way to convey our values than by portraying an all-encompassing kiss between Burger King and McDonald," Kasila. "We wanted to show that in the end, love always wins."
The gays stay winning!
