Limited Edition Gay Vodka Comes to Utah for Pride
Because Five Wives wasn't gay enough.
One Utah-based distillery is making the most out of the combination of living in Mormon country and everyone gearing up for Pride season.
Ogden’s Own Distillery is launching a limited edition vodka — Five Husbands.
The bottle will feature five dudes who look like they fell off the cover of a self-published romance novel, mostly naked except for roosters covering where it matters most, and standing on top of a rainbow flag label.
The company is already known for its polygamy-themed Five Wives vodka, and wanted to come up with a way to get involved in Pride.
“There’s something really magical about seeing people being able to express themselves and be themselves,” CEO Steve Conlin said.
And possibly the best part? The company checked in with the local LGBTQ community before going ahead with the limited edition. Conlin said he wanted to make sure he “wasn’t misjudging [his] sense of humor.”
“Believe it or not, under the surface, Utah is a pretty fun and wild place,” he added.
This will be the first time in the whole history of Utah Pride Festival that the primary liquor sponsor will be local.
And hopefully they’ll opt to serve Five Wives right alongside Five Husbands. That one’s already pretty gay, too.
