Kissing Video to Promote LGBTQ Tolerance in Russia Banned in Russia
The country that once brought us t.A.T.u. and “All the Things She Said” continues to lead the way in anti-LGBT censorship.
Roman Bashinsky posted a video to his YouTube channel, Bashinsky Time, featuring a 15 minute long experiment where people were blindfolded, asked to kiss several different volunteers, and then had to describe the experience.
While many of the kiss sessions were between a man and a woman, there were also quite a few between two male volunteers and two female volunteers.
The point of Bashinsky’s channel is to encourage tolerance and acceptance of the LGBTQ community in Russia.
However, less than 24 hours after Bashinsky uploaded the video on December 30th, it had been removed from YouTube in Russia.
The video does not appear to violate any of YouTube’s rules, and is still available in other countries.
Bashinsky told GayStarNews that he made the video “to cultivate tolerance in our country. For Russia, a man kissing a man is not normal. We want to fix it. Russia must be a civilized and tolerant country.”
