Watch a Street Preacher’s Attack on Dua Lipa Fans Hilariously Backfire

Don't tempt me with a good time!

A street preacher’s attempt to shame Dua Lipa concertgoers for their “sins” backfired hilariously as he found himself unintentionally serving as a hype man instead.

Video shared by TikToker @brandongreaves07 this week was originally filmed ahead of Dua Lipa’s Leeds stop on her Future Nostalgia tour in April. In it, a large crowd is gathered and waiting for the doors to the stadium to open, while a man with a microphone stands by the curb, joined by a woman holding a sign about how Jesus Christ has suffered for humanity’s sins.

Anyone who has attended any large event in a big city that isn’t specifically aimed at Christians has probably found themselves dealing with these sort of street preaching protestors. Everything in the world seems to be a sin to them, and people having fun and living their best lives are their misguided mission field.

You have to imagine they don’t actually expect to convert anyone by screaming at them on the side of the road, yet the virtue signaling continues. And in this particular instance, it may have actually wound up benefiting the crowd of “New Rules”-loving heathens.

“Homosexuality and lesbianism is sin!” he began, with cheers rising up as soon as the word “lesbianism” carried over to the gathered group.

The man looked disappointed at the response and took a moment to gather himself before continuing: “And you celebrate sin!”

Unsurprisingly, the crowd’s cheers only got louder, a back-and-forth that only escalated as the self-righteous preacher kept going.

“How many of you think it’s good to get drunk?” Cheers. “How many of you think it’s good to get high?” Cheers. “How many think it’s good to dance like a whore?” …you get the picture.

He concluded by lamenting that they’re all “in serious trouble with God,” and immediately lost everyone’s attention. But up until that point, viewers felt like he was doing more to hype the crowd up for Dua Lipa and dancing “like a whore” than convincing them to take up the torch of intolerance.

“Best pre show Hypeman I’ve seen so far, nice work sir,” one viewer wrote, while another praised the idea of having “an opening act while waiting in line.”

Obviously the man’s intentions were more malicious than that, but any Dua Lipa fan knows how to deal when confronted with a loser like this: 1) Don’t pick up the phone, 2) Don’t let him in, 3) Don’t be his friend. And go enjoy the concert with all the rest of the sinners.
