Teyana Taylor was just along for the ride.
We are in a new era of pop stardom, indeed.
Tonight at thr 2021 MTV Video Music awards, the girls were giving us performances! To celebrate 40 years of MTV, Lil Nas X brought his iconic shower scene to life onstage. Then Chloe Bailey showed the world just how much a child of Beyonce she is with an awe-inspiring performance. And then there was Normani, the former Fifth Harmony member turned solo artist who is a star and wants you to know it.
The singer performed her track "Wild Side," including the intricate choreography as well as sliding across the floor. In the music video she appeared alongside Cardi B and the pair appeared to get a bit sapphic, loving up on one another — Cardi is a noted bisexual. While Cardi did not perform at the VMAs this year, Normani didn't come alone.

In an ode to one of the queens of pop and performance, Janet Jackson, Normani had performer Teyanna Taylor rolled in, strapped down. Normani then mounted her, and performed a number of simulates sex acts. A PERFORMANCE INDEED.
And when it was all over, the stage lit up in the colors of the Bisexual Pride Flag. A coming out, perhaps?
We aren't quite sure but we certainly are keeping an ear out — and rewatching as much as possible.
