The Grammy-winning Folkore singer praised her loyal stan for "choosing to live and love honestly even when it isn't easy!"

In the era of texting and DMs, getting a handwritten letter from someone is definitely special — and if that handwritten latter is from one your faves, like Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, then it's even more of an occasion to celebrate!

That was the case with gay Taylor Swift stan Andrew Mooney, who was lucky enough to receive a note from the "exile" and "betty" singer herself!

Mooney, who PinkNews points out is a PhD candidate at Trinity College Dublin, shared a pic of the special message (and a cozy AF looking T.Swift sweater) he got from Taylor in a post to his Twiter account which has over 22,000+ likes at the time of reporting.

Congratulating Mooney on his academic accomplishments, Taylor wrote, "Andy, someone told me you’re about to finish your PhD! I wanted to congratulate you on this incredible accomplishment and to applaud you for all the hard work you’ve put into your studies. This is EPIC!! I saw how supportive you’ve been of my music over the years and was so touched. Thank you so much."

Speaking out about how hard it can be to be out and proud, especially during hard and dark times like the ones we're currently living in, she continued:

"I’m also so proud of you for the bravery you’ve shown in your personal life, choosing to live and love honestly even when it isn’t easy. I hope you’re doing well in and amongst the chaos we’re all living through right now. In these times, I think it’s important to revel in the great moments when we can, and this is a moment worth celebrating!"

"Thank you @taylorswift13 for taking the time to write me such a beautiful message," Mooney said on Twitter in response to Taylor's kind words. "You have been an inspiration to me for so many years and I can’t put into words how much this means to me. You have changed my life."

We absolutely love how publicly vocal and supportive Tay has been towards the LGBTQ+ community in her career in recent years. Just last year, "The Man" singer took to the Video Music Awards stage to back The Equality Act and quite literally show off her love for gay rights.

After years of political silence, she also finally spoke up about the importance of voting during the 2018 midterm elections, urging people to vote progressively on many issues, including those that affect the queer community.

"I believe in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, and that any form of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender is WRONG," Taylor said.

She also gave a touching speech during a concert during Pride Month back in 2018 that we still can't get our minds off of.

"It’s very brave to be vulnerable about your feelings in any sense and in any situation, but it’s even more brave to be honest about your feelings and who you love when you know that it might be met with adversity from society," Taylor said. "And so, this month and every month I want to send my love and respect to everybody who has been brave enough to be honest about how they feel, to live their lives as they are, as they feel they should be, as they identify."
