Earlier this month, The 1975 lead singer Matty Healy made international headlines after publicly kissing a male fan during a concert in Dubai, a city with some of the strictest anti-LGBTQ laws in the world and where homosexuality is still criminalized. "I kissed a boy in Dubai the other week," Matty said addressing the crowd, reports BBC News. "The gig was amazing and everybody that was there was in support of it (the kiss). He continued:
"I really liked that boy and I am pretty sure he liked that kiss. It is not me that needs to change, it is the world that needs changing."

"Sometimes governments get involved when they should just leave you and your lovely genitals to do what you want at home." he said.
It's worth noting that this isn't the first time Healy has admitted to kissing men, though he also admits that his attraction to men is only in a "non-sexual way."
"Yes, but not in a carnal, sexual way," he explained when asked by ShortList last year about whether he finds men attractive. "The other sex is still attractive, it’s just that sex is weird, isn’t it? Do you know what I mean? It’s, like, Do I want to do blowjobs with a guy? No. Do I want to kiss a guy? Yeah, kind of..."
