We all have those songs that are forever ingrained in our coming-of-age stories. Songs that gave us hope, played during our first kiss, helped us feel fierce, or simply helped us understand ourselves a little bit better. This is oftentimes particularly true for LGBTQ artists.
Throughout the month of June, and only on PRIDE, LGBTQ+ artists are curating and sharing playlists that reflect their formative years—their Soundtracks of Pride.
Your newest crush, the "Irrational" singer-songwriter Jordy, is premiering the lyric video for his latest track, "These Days," exclusively with PRIDE.
"'These Days' is a song that I wrote when I was reflecting on the growth I had made the year following an emotionally taxing break-up," he explained. "I wanted the song to be an anthem for anyone who has made similar strides by putting themselves first while being single, but also for those who continue to wonder if their relationship would work again under new and better circumstances."
Jordy also broke down why he picked the songs on his Soundtrack of Pride.
"I was extremely lucky to come out at a young age surrounded by an accepting family and community; the biggest struggle for me were the battles I had within myself. The songs on this playlist were songs that made me feel confident in my own skin, unafraid to be my most authentic self, and inspired me to wear my heart on my sleeve. Whether I needed a good cry, to dance my worries away, or just needed a pick me up, these songs always had my back."
