As usual, Janelle is here to save the day!

It's official! Our fave Dirty Computer and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Janelle Monáe will be contributing new music to the soundtrack for Disney Plus' upcoming, live-action Lady and the Tramp remake!

And the best part about all of this news (besides hearing new material from Janelle, of course)? The "Make Me Feel" songstress is going to be replacing and reinventing the out-of-date and super racist "Siamese Cat Song" from the 1955 version!

According toVariety, Monáe (who is also voicing a role in the film) is set to perform two original tracks for Disney Plus' Lady and the Tramp. (The movie is being led by her "Pynk" collaborator Tessa Thompson and The Leftovers' Justin Theroux.)

Variety reports that Nate "Rocket" Wonder and Roman GianArthur (two of Janelle's collaborators from her Wondaland artist collective) have confirmed that they are working with Janelle on reinventing Peggy Lee's infamous "The Siamese Cat Song," which was originally record for the 1955 animated film. The track is problematic in the way it pepetuates Asian stereotypes and is a very clear example of the racism that was rampant in many Disney films from the era.

We'll finally be able to enjoy a cute AF love story between two puppies without having to sit through excrutiating and blatant anti-Asian racism!

Thank you, Janelle!!
