If we learned anything from his pop bop "Just Friends," it's that singer-songwriter Jordy isn't afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve.
With his latest single "Irrational," the openly-gay 23-year-old singer vulnerably shares his relationship insecurities over a bouncy candy-coated beat that, in a very Lauv or Troye Sivan fashion, drops into a sparse, bass-driven chorus that commands you to get up and dance.
"'Irrational' is a portrayal of my mind and how anxiety has manifested in my past relationships," Jordy told PRIDE. "Once you've been hurt, it's easy to fall into these pits of doubt, even when things are seemingly perfect."
He continued:
"Writing "Irrational" was a way for me to own those insecurities and connect with other people who find themselves in similarly destructive processes in a relationship. Mental health is really important to me, and I want to normalize discussion surrounding the subject as much as possible."
