Fans Are Legitimately Convinced That Sam Smith and Adele Are the Same Person
A crazy conspiracy theory that British singers Adele and Sam Smith are actually the same person has been picking up some traction on the internet lately, and it's actually kind of hilarious.
Twitter user Jesse Valona posited the theory of Twitter Monday night, when he shared a video of Adele’s 2015 hit "Hello" being played at a slower speed.
“Did you know that when you slow down Adele it’s actually Sam Smith,” the 17-year-old asked.

Valona also tweeted a second clip of Adele’s “Million Years Ago” as further evidence.

"I forget the exact action of the realization," Valona told HuffPost on Friday. "But both Sam Smith and Adele were played on my speakers at some point that day. Then when I slowed it down, I just knew it sounded very elegant, like Sam Smith’s voice, and decided to share it with the world."
A number of Twitter users’ heads have exploded in light of this theory. Many of whom, note that they can’t recall seeing Sam Smith and Adele ever in the same room. And if you Google photos looking for the two of them together, you’re unable to find any.
