Dua Lipa's music video for her new single "New Rules" quickly went viral last week and is a strong contender for the song of the summer.
As the video begins, the 21-year-old Londoner struggles to get over an ex, but with the help of her girlfriends, she instates new rules for her to finally move on. ("1. Don't pick up the phone, you know he's only calling 'cause he's drunk and alone. 2. Don't let him in, you'll have to kick him out again.") As the video progresses, Lipa's the one helping her friends stick to the guidelines, and the song becomes an anthem for the power of female friendships.
As with everything strong women create, the gays quickly got a hold of it and put their own spin on it. Twitter user Jake Wilson recreated the music video scene-for-scene in a nearly perfect and often times hilarious rendition of "New Rules." Everything is on pointe, including the wardrobe, choreography, and even the camera work. And in this gayer version, the song is about Justin Beiber!?
What do you think? Did the boys do the video justice?
