Animal Planet's hit series Finding Bigfoot returns to television on November 10 with all-new episodes featuring research biologist Ranae Holland. In the upcoming season the Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) and “skeptical scientist” Holland expand their search for the elusive creature into North America.
Holland, who is an out lesbian and native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was indoctrinated into the Bigfoot craze early in her childhood by her father, with whom she spent countless hours watching movies and exploring the phenomenon, she has said. In 2011, the biologist officially became a co-host of the Animal Planet show Finding Bigfoot. Holland however does not believe in existence of the creature and serves as skeptical balance to the BFRO on the series, using her vast knowledge on the subject to investigate alongside the organization.
“I didn’t believe in Bigfoot, but I had those memories with my dad and I wanted to honor that,” Holland told San Diego Gay and Lesbian News in 2012.
This season the team continues to investigate every piece of credible evidence as it travels to new locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Oklahoma, Texas, Vermont and Washington.
Finding Bigfoot returns to Animal Planet at 10pm on November 10.
