Who's ready to ugly cry?
The first trailer for the upcoming film adaption of the Tony-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen was just released! The story follows a lonely high school senior with a Social Anxiety disorder who gets wrapped up in a massive web of lies following the suicide of a fellow classmate.
The sensation has already taken over the musical theater world, winning six Tony Awards back in 2017, and the first trailer is just as tear-jerking. The film stars Ben Platt, who originated the role on Broadway, as well as Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Amandla Stenberg, and Booksmart's Kaitlyn Dever. The film was directed by Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and features the music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman).
Dear Evan Hansen is gearing up to be one of the biggest musical events of the year, alongside West Side Story and In The Heights.
