From the mind of Clea DuVall, "Happiest Season" is nearly here!
It's the year of our Lorde 2020 and it's kind of mind-blowing how few major-release queer rom-com are out there. If there's anything the gays love, it's festivities and romance.
Actor and director Clea Duvall is ready to rectify that slight with Happiest Season, her upcoming queer holiday rom-com featuring Twilight star Kristen Stewart and Terminator: Dark Fate actor Mackenzie Davis.
"I'm a huge fan of Christmas movies, but I had never seen my story represented," DuVall told People. "Happiest Season felt like a great opportunity to tell a universal story from a new perspective."

In the four photos released from the film, you can spot Stewart beside her castmates Mary Steenburgen, Victor Garber, Alison Brie, Mary Holland, Aubrey Plaza, and Dan Levy.
The film follows Abby, played by Stewart, who plans to propose to her girlfriend Harper (Davis) while attending Harper's family holiday party, only to discover her girlfriend hasn't actually come out to her conservative parents yet.
"I think I've wished to see a gay Christmas rom com my whole life," said Stewart. "I'm so happy and proud of Clea for bringing this into the world."
PRIDE visited the set of the film earlier this year (pre-pandemic), so be on the lookout for our exclusive interviews with the cast, writers, and directors coming soon!
Happiest Season is set to premiere in theaters on November 25.
