The COVID-19 health scare has reached pandemic levels all over the world, and many lives and industries are starting to become greatly affected.
Because of the nature of theatrical releases and public move-watching, the film world is taking many precautionary measures to help ensure the stop of the spread of the virus—including postponing some highly anticipated titles.
But which movie releases are being affected right now?
The sequel to John Krasinski's 2018 thriller starring Emily Blunt was originally scheduled to be released on May 15, but thanks to COVID-19 scare, Paramount is now postponing the release to an unannounced later date.
Perhaps the most prolonged delay on this list, the ninth installment of the popular Fast & Furious movie franchise pushed back its release all the way to April 2021, almost a whole year after its original planned date of March 2020.
The premiere of the much-anticipated (and controversial) live-action adaptation of the beloved '90s animated film is, like others on this list, being pushed back to a later, unannounced date, though the word is Disney is eyeing a date later in the year.
The latest Bond flick, and actor Daniel Craig's final bow as the beloved international spy, was supposed to premiere this April, but now it looks like we won't be seeing in action on the big screen until later this fall when No Time to Die hits theaters in November.
Along with A Quiet Place Part II, Paramount has delayed the April release of The Lovebirds, the upcoming romantic action comedy that stars two of our faves, writer/Insecure actor Issa Rae and The Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani. A new release date hasn't been announced yet.
Probably one of the most delayed films in recent history, The New Mutants, which was originally supposed to come out in April 2018, then February 2019, then April 2020, has been pushed back yet again due to health concerns from COVID-19. 20th Century Studios has yet to make an annoucement for the planed re-re-release date.
