In Hallmark's "Countdown to Christmas" preview special, host Candace Cameron Bure shared some clips of the channel's first movie featuring a same-gender couple, The Christmas House.
"Working through some difficult decisions, Mitchell family matriarch Phylis (Sharon Lawrence) and patriarch Bill (Treat Williams), have summoned their two grown sons — Mike (Robert Buckley) and Brandon (Jonathan Bennett) — home for the holidays," the official description reads. "It is their hope that bringing the family together to recreate the Christmas house will help them find resolution and make a memorable holiday for the entire family and community. As Brandon and his husband, Jake (Brad Harder), make the trip home, they are anxiously awaiting a call about the adoption of their first child. Meanwhile, Mike reconnects with Andi (Ana Ayora), his high school sweetheart."
The clips seen in the video shows Mike calling his parents, Phylis and Bill, who need his help reviving their festive family traditions. We also see Bennett’s character, Brandon, running through the airport and you can even spot his husband, Jake, when the two pose for a selfie together.
"Some of my scenes from my new movie really inspired me to call my family," says Bennett in another clip. "I really hope this movie inspires people to come together with their families and surround each other with unconditional love."
The Christmas House premieres Sunday, Nov. 22 at 8pm ET/PT on the Hallmark Channel.
