Dev Patel Will Star in a 'Chippendales' Movie, So Dreams Do Come True!

We didn't know we needed this in our lives until now, but apparently, our handsome king Dev Patel is set to star in an upcoming biopic about the co-founder of infamous male exotic dance brand Chippendales! 

According to a report from Variety, I, Tonya director Craig Gillespie just signed on to helm the project that will focus on the real, true-life story of Steve Banerjee, an Indian-American entrepreneur who helped found the popular men's striptease dance troupe Chippendales. The project has been in the works for many years, Variety also reports, and Dev has already been attached to play Banerjee since 2017, but with the recent announcement of Gillespie's directing, production of the film has finally started to pick up steam and will hopefully soon be on the horizon. 

This is surely good news for any Dev Patel stan (like myself), especially since the release of the Oscar-nominated Lion actor's highly-anticipated A24 project The Green Knight was delayed due to the ongoing, global pandemic. 

No word yet on when production on Chippendales will officially start, or when it is scheduled to be released, but trust us, when the announcement is made, we'll be one of the first to go and see King Dev working with some male strippers on the big screen!
