Dan Levy Joins Kristen Stewart Christmas Lesbian Rom-Com Happiest Season
We’re absolutely dead waiting for Happiest Season, the lesbian Christmas rom-com of our dreams that won’t be coming out until NEXT holiday season. But with production finally ramping up, new tidbits are coming out, so to speak, and we’re eager to lap up every single one.
The latest news? Schitt’s Creek creator and star Dan Levy is joining the cast!
Nothing is known about his character at the moment, but considering this is a furiously gay movie, we can only assume Levy’s character will be as queer as they come, and really, that’s enough for us for now.

Lest it seem like we’re making a lesbian rom-com all about the one gay guy, Levy will be joining Aubrey Plaza, Alison Brie, Mary Steenburgen, and Victor Garber in supporting our two lady leads — Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis.
Happiest Season will follow Stewart and Davis’s romantically entwined characters as they head on home to a family gathering hosted by Davis’s folks. Stewart has big plans to propose to her girlfriend while they’re celebrating the holidays, but everything goes wrong when she finds out Davis hasn’t ever come out of the closet to her conservative family.
And possibly the best part? The movie will be directed by queer Hollywood royalty Clea DuVall, with a script co-written by DuVall and Mary Holland.

Production has already begun for Happiest Season, with filming notices being gleefully shared by queers across Twitter, who are SO READY FOR MORE QUEER HOLIDAY ROMCOMS. Seriously, we can count them all on one hand. Bring on the Christmas queer! I mean, cheer. Whatever, same thing, lez be real.
Rachel Kiley is presumably a writer and definitely not a terminator. She can usually be found crying over queerbaiting in the Pitch Perfect franchise or on Twitter, if not both.
