"Like the first movie, Elsa is not just defined by a romantic interest," songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez said.

We're only a few months away from Disney's highly-anticipated sequel to their 2013 box office smash Frozen, and although plenty of LGBTQ+ fans have been excited for the release because of the possibility of main character Elsa exploring her sexuality and getting a female love interest, it looks things won't be shaping out the way queer fans are hoping...

According to a report from IGN, Elsa won't be getting a love interest in the film at all.

"Like the first movie, Elsa is not just defined by a romantic interest," Kristen Anderson-Lopez, one of Frozen 2's songwriters, told IGN following the Disney Studios panel at D23 Expo this past weekend. "There's so many movies that define a woman by her romantic interest. That's not a story that we wanted to tell at this point in time."

She continued:

"What we really wanted to tell was if you have these powers, how do you grow and change and find your place in the world and find answers that haven't been found before?"

Looks like fans who want Elsa to have a GF have to keep turning to fanfiction...

Frozen 2 hits theaters this fall on November 22. Watch the trailer in the video below!
