There's a New Spice Girls Movie in the Works!

And ALL the Spice Girls are said to be involved.

Nothing can ever compare to the cinematic masterpiece that was Spice World, but if they want to try, we will certainly watch.

And it looks like a new Spice Girls film is indeed on the way. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Animation is currently developing an animated film celebrating the Girl Power millennials grew up with.

All five ladies (yes, even Posh!) are said to be “on board,” which we hope means they’re voicing characters of themselves, rather than just producing something featuring their music, a la that Viva Forever! jukebox musical that ran on the West End for an abysmal seven months.

The band’s manager, Simon Fuller, is set to produce, and Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith (10 Things I Hate About You, Legally Blonde) are writing the script.

THR says that nothing is known about the plot yet, but that the film will feature our fave Spice songs as well as some new material. However, The Guardian is reporting that the new movie will see the Spice Girls turning into superheroes — which we would be positively here for. Spice Force Five, anyone??

Either way, Paramount seems hopeful the film will be released as soon as early 2020. Thank you very much!

The Girls are currently halfway through a reunion tour around the UK and Ireland, their first since 2008, as well as their first full tour without Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham.

While the kick-off concert of the reunion was plagued with sound issues, the majority of reports coming from the lucky fans that get to see four out of five of the Spice Girls reunite have been positive. Whether that’s nostalgia or a truly amazing concert…honestly, who cares. It’s the Spice Girls. They’re basically flawless no matter what.

And maybe if this new animated film goes well enough, they’ll even consider reuniting for a real sequel to Spice World. After all, we never really found out — what happened to the bomb on the bus?
