Will Thomas finally find love?

Downton Abbey has always been a show for the gays, but it might be about to get a little bit gayer.

The trailer for the feature film follow-up to the British series gives us a look into the estate’s preparations for a visit from the King and Queen of England. And while most of the 1927 setting will undoubtedly provide us with a load of fancy pants heterosexuals, a quick shot of a kiss between butler Thomas Barrow and a new man.

Thomas, who was generally perceived as a scheming villain throughout the original series’ run, had a tough go of it — he suffered through failed affairs and self-imposed attempts at making himself straight.

But this quick snippet of a kiss is already giving fans hope that the Crawley family’s butler may find his way to some semblance of happiness by the time the film is over.

Will Thomas get a real boyfriend in 1927? Or will this end in heartbreak once again?

Unfortunately, we won’t find out until fall. Downton Abbey will be in theaters September 20.

But until then…here’s that trailer:
