Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse just won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature!!

While a lot of other amazing animated movies were nomininated this year, most notable Incredibles 2, a win for Spider-Verse is a big deal considering it is one of the few times mainstream audiences have seen an Afro-Latinx lead character predominantly featured in a superhero movie, a genre that is still overwhelmingly white.

Spider-Verse was amazingly diverse, and brought a much-needed freshness to a predictable film category. We're so glad it won!!!
