It’s the Sanderson sisters’ world and every Halloween, we’re just living in it.

But this year’s spooky season just got a little more enchanted. Collider reports that Hocus Pocus 2 is officially in the works at Disney+ and will be helmed by Jen D’Angelo.

Rumors of an addition to the Hocus Pocus world have haunted the family classic for years, with recent rumblings suggesting whatever Disney came out with would be a remake. But outlets are firmly referring to this project as Hocus Pocus 2, and — even better — citing sources that claim D’Angelo has been asked to find a way to bring back Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy to reprise their roles as the Sanderson sisters.

While the original actors aren't currently attached to the project, all three had previously expressed interest in returning to Salem.

A sequel to the beloved film already exists in book format, though it’s unclear if the movie version will in any way follow that plot, or if it will diverge and make its own witchy way.

The written sequel follows the daughter of the original’s Max and Allison, Poppy, as she and her friends deal with the legend of the Sanderson sisters 25 years after the original trio had to save the town from some hocus pocus.

And the best part of the book was that it was super duper gay.

Which makes it seem a little unlikely that Disney+ will follow that plot, as their films aren’t particularly known for being LGBTQ inclusive (though their shows, at least, have started to get better). But whatever this new Hocus Pocus ends up being, we’re sure it’ll put a spell on us.
