New 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Trailer Addresses Freddie Mercury's Sexuality

FINALLY.

A brand new trailer for the upcoming Queen biopic—appropriately titled Bohemian Rhapsody—just dropped this week, and it focuses not only on the artistic advancements of the legendary Freddie Mercury and his band, but apparently, also the singer's sexuality and personal struggles.

The original trailer caused an uproar from Mercury's queer fanbase after they failed to touch on the famed singer's bisexuality, and 20th Century Fox was even accused of straight-washing the film. (And let's not forget what the studio did about the topic of Mercury's AIDS diagnosis, referring to it vaguely as a "life-threatening illness.")

But the newly released trailer seems to make right on these previously mentioned wrongs by showing a scene where Mercury (played by Mr. Robot's Rami Malek) addresses his private life and his relationships with men. The film focuses on a 15-year period in Mercury's life, from the formation of Queen up until their performance at Live Aid in 1985, just six years before his death.

Malek joins a cast that includes some pretty heavy hitters, including Gwilym Lee, Brian May, Ben Hardy, Joe Mazzello, and Allen Leech. (And, as rumor has it, Mike Myers is also set to play an unspecified role!)
