Clea DuVall seems to be setting herself up for a knockout directorial debut. Her film, The Intervention, will play the opening night of Outfest this Thursday before opening in theaters on August 26th, so at least those of us who can't make it to the festival don't have to wait too long! Not only can we not wait to see what happens when Clea is at the helm and in a starring role, but it also stars Natasha Lyonne as her girlfriend, making our But I'm A Cheerleader-loving hearts happier than ever. And to top it all off, the cast includes some of our all-time favorites: Melanie Lynskey, Alia Shawkat, and Cobie Smulders, so we know this is a film to believe in. Check out the trailer right here:
Oh, and you're not mistaken - that's totally the music of Tegan and Sara's Sara Quin making your day in the trailer. Of course she scored this film, because The Intervention is apparently as gay as it gets. No complaints here, and we can't wait to check it out for ourselves!
