Romantic drama fans that are looking for a love story that defies labels should catch a screening of Honeyglue, an independent film opening on June 3rd.
Honeyglue follows Morgan (Adriana Mather), a young woman who has a malignant brain tumor. Shortly after her doctor tells her she has only a few months to live, she embarks on a whirlwind romance with gender-defying artist, Jordan (Zach Villa). Their story, told through animation and home movie footage interspersed with traditional shots, takes them from a backyard wedding to the honeymoon road trip of a lifetime.
Honeyglue was created by Zombot Pictures, an independent production company started by producer/composer Anya Remizova, Native American writer/director James Bird, and producer/actress Adriana Mather. The filmmakers “wanted to show that a leading man doesn’t have to be your typical leading man. He can be a complex gender bending character, and audiences will find him equally attractive and appealing.”
