What is it about men with tattoos that makes us weak in the knees?

Is it as simple as we think tattoos looks cool? Or maybe we subconsciously assume they’re more likely to be a top in a world overpopulated by bottoms? In this piece of hard-hitting journalism, I delve into the reason why we are attracted to tattooed men as well as why we should really consider dating tatted hunks.

1. He's brave

Sitting under a needle for any amount of time requires a certain amount of bravery, as does displaying the art on your body for the rest of your life. If he’s tatted, he’s brave, and there’s nothing that makes you feel safer.

2. He's adventurous

We don’t need anyone boring around here, and guys with tattoos definitely know how to go on some adventures. What’s next, jumping out of a plane? Underground water rafting? I’m here for the journey.

3. He’s badass

Even as tattoos become more mainstream, there's still something incredibly badass about a guy with ink. Maybe it’s the mystery. What does his tattoo actually mean? Maybe it’s something else. Whatever it is, it works.

4. He’s not afraid of what others think

When a guy has a tattoo, especially in a visible place, he’s opening himself up to the opinions of others. People inevitably give their thoughts on it, and some have the audacity to say some pretty awful things. People with tattoos do not care what you think. If they did, they wouldn't be getting tattoos. They do things for themselves.

He values his own voice, creativity, and artistic integrity. He wants others to know how he views the world and himself.

6. He commits

Tattoos are for life. Once you get that sucker on you, there’s no turning back. The more ink he has, the more he sees his life going forward. The more he looks to the future. If a guy can commit to a tattoo for life, he’s better equipped to commit to a man.

7. He can handle pain

Tattoos are straight up painful. If he can handle that much physical pain, who know’s what else he can handle? You definitely want a guy who isn't afraid of getting hurt.

Not to sound like Bradley Cooper in A Star is Born, but he not only has a story, he has one worth telling. While everyone has his story, men with tattoos have one they want to share.

9. He has a sense of humor (potentially)

Not all tattoos are serious. Some are downright dumb. I have a tattoo of a Wario hat on my ribcage. My best friend (and secret lover at the time) has a tattoo of a Mario hat in the same place. He and I got the tattoos in college—the day before graduation. Am I thrilled that I have this crudely-drawn, big-ass Wario hat on my ribcage? Not particularly, but I have it. I enjoy it. I can laugh about it. Guys with fun tattoos know not to take life too seriously.

10. He’s spontaneous

More impetuous… but hey, when we want something, we want something. We want it now, and we don’t care about the consequences. Guys with tattoos live in the moment. Who doesn't want to date a guy like that?

It’s true. Guys with tattoos are beasts in the sack. They’re more passionate. More aggressive. They know what they’re doing. They’re just better. Who knows why there's a correlation between sexual prowess and tattoos, but we are definitely not complaining!
