Josephine Skriver is a Danish supermodel, working for the likes of Victoria's Secret, Gucci and Chanel, she also happens to be an IVF baby. "I'm not a science experience, I am not synthetics, I am a real human being. I am just as real as you are," says Skriver in the new My i-D series. Born to a lesbian mom and a gay dad, Skriver says she never saw herself or her family as different until she started high school, where kids were more intereted in pointing out her families differences than accepting them.
Skriver's mom had an intense desire to have a child from a very young age and placed an ad in a local LGBT magazine for anyone interested in helping her bring a child into the world, and her now dad answered the ad just before he married his partner. Skrvier focused on the positives of her expanded family including calling her stepmom a "bonus mom," she explains.
At 22, Skriver has proved those high school bullies wrong as she rocks the runways and shares her beautiful story of how she came into the world as a rainbow baby. Check out her story below.
