6 Stats to Blow Away LGBT Adoption Discrimination
New laws are going in the wrong direction ...
There seems to be an awful growing trend in legislation right now to allow adoption agencies to reject LGBT parents based on religious views. Michigan has now jumped on this bandwagon after passing a package of three bills with a committee vote of 4-1, that will be voted on in the full senate. "An estimated two million LGBT people are interested in adopting."
5. What about a loving LGBT home seems worse than an orphanage?
"There is no conclusive evidence that homosexuality is linked to one's environment. In other words, growing up in a gay couple household will not "make" a child gay."
4. More than 40 states don't allow LGBT couples to adopt.
“States and regions which explicitly allow for adoption by same-sex couples include California, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Vermont.”
3. So, you really think kids who grow up with LGBT parents are at a disadvantage?
"There is no reliable evidence that homosexual orientation, per se, impairs psychological functioning. Second, beliefs that lesbian and gay adults are not fit parents have no empirical foundation."
2. What about the children?
"There is no conclusive evidence that homosexuality is linked to one's environment. In other words, growing up in a gay couple household will not 'make' a child gay."

"An estimated 65,000 happy and healthy adopted children are living in an LGBT home."
