Things start to simmer down once you’ve been in a relationship for a while. That’s not to say problems don’t come up, but silly little things that used to keep you up all night no longer seem as nerve-racking as they once were.
Here are some telltale signs you’ve been dating your partner for some time.
1. You don’t feel guilty for saying, “Get off me. I’m too hot to cuddle.”
Even better, your partner doesn’t mistake it for anything more than it is: a temperature problem.
2. Sex is no longer the most important thing.
Mind-blowing sex is … mind-blowingly awesome. And in the beginning of a relationship, it might seem like that’s one of the driving forces, but as the relationship progresses, other things shift into importance.
3. You share the bathroom like you're doing a beautifully choreographed dance.
He backs away while shaving as you spit out your Listerine. You pee while he showers. He brushes his teeth behind you so you can look in the mirror while styling your hair. You've mastered sharing bathroom space.
4. You can fart in front of each other.
And it’s past the point of embarrassment and humor. It’s simply, “Did you just fart?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh, OK.”
5. Your jealousy takes a chill pill.
As you become more confident and secure in your relationship, which only comes with time, you can start to relax when you catch him checking out another guy. Let him enjoy the show. You know you’re the one he’s going home with tonight.
6. You can be brutally honest.
“That outfit really isn’t doing anything good for you or me.”
7. You can put him in time-out.
It’s finally acceptable to say, “Please don’t talk to me right now,” “I’m going for a walk alone,” or “I want to strangle you” without fearing that it’s the end.
8. You share your cum towel.
That’s love right there.
9. The one night you don’t spend with each other, you end up talking on the phone for hours.
You needed to go back to your place to finish up some work. Instead, you spoke to him on the phone the whole night.
10. You say "I love you" 150 times a day.
And it never gets old.
