Dating is hard. Finding someone you like and can get along with and develop a relationship with is no easy feat, especially in this day and age. What's even harder?
Making sure your parents like him, too.
Look, we've all fallen for a bad boy here and there, and they have their purpose, but they're not going to last in the long run. Here are 10 types of guys you should be on the hunt for if you want to bring him home to your parents.

He's nurturing and he'll make you soup when you get sick with no complaints. He's also empathetic and knows how to listen, and mom especially will be a big fun of how he treats you.

Since he's from a different country, he's cultured. He can teach you and your family about different ways of doing things. He may have been born in the same country as you, but his heritage lets you be a little more open-minded.
He likes what he does and makes good money doing it. He can pull his financial weight in the relationship and isn't afraid to work hard for what he wants.
He may be quiet, but when he talks, he's insightful and engaging. He can hold his own in a conversation with the parentals, which earns him major points.
Everyone loves a good laugh, and nothing helps disarm a potentially awkward first meeting than a well delivered joke.
While he doesn't have to outline your entire future, if your special guy talks about upcoming plans (trips, moves, etc.) he's showing that he wants to stick around for a while.
